Shubh Vivah Muhurat - Auspicious days for Marriage in the Hindu Calendar

There is no greater blessing in life than marriage. The importance of choosing the right auspicious date for planning such an auspicious event cannot be overstated because it will ensure the heavens themselves smooth your journey ahead.

There are four ashrams created for humans. Brahmacharya, Gruhast, Vanprasth, and Sanyas.

Out of these, the Gruhast is the father of all these. The reason is marriage. Marriage leads to the growth of the universe. The first step to enter a family life, the Hindu culture believes one needs to get married. There are many kinds of marriage. There is a detailed explanation of this in our Shastras. Out of the 16 sanskaras in the Hindu religion, we know that marriage is one of the sanskaras. So, it becomes important to know the Thithi, Nakshatra, Lagna are good for a marriage. The Panchang is the blue book followed for all these details.

Shubh Muhurat is a term used to describe times that are auspicious and inauspicious. It is known as 'muhurat'. The chance for success in an undertaking increases when performed in a muhurat that is favourable to success. You can get the best results according to your destiny when you do the correct muhurat. Therefore, it is crucial to think about muhurat before beginning the task.

Life gets a new direction, meaning, and purpose with marriage. It is, however, imperative that the natal charts (Kundalis) of the prospective brides and grooms are matched. Through pujas and finding solutions, a dosha can be removed.

In addition, the auspicious day should be selected to avoid any undue hardships or troubles.

In which month and on what date you should get married this year is of great importance. When it comes to Hindu marriage, the horoscopes of the bride and groom are matched first to determine how many of the 36 qualities they share. The date of the marriage follows matching the qualities as the most important thing. Wedding Muhurtas have a significant impact on the happiness of the future bride and groom, so people take great care in choosing the Muhurta for their wedding.

The ancient astrological methods, based on ancient belief systems, are considered safer and more reliable. Using the Panchang or Almanac Hindu calendar, you can choose an auspicious wedding date.

Discover all the factors that go into a marriage Muhurut. Identify how determined the marriage season is.

In astrology, the marriage muhurat, or an an auspicious time when marriage is most appropriate for the bride and groom, is what tells us the auspicious time of the wedding.

Panchangam Shuddhi or Panchang Shuddhi is a Hindu ritual to calculate marriage dates. In addition to providing auspicious marriage dates, Panchang Shuddhi gives Shubh time to perform marriage rituals.

In addition to considering the auspicious Solar and Lunar months in the year, Nakshatra, Yoga, and Karana Shuddhi can assist in determining the Vishu Muhurat during the year.

Points to note :

1. During the second half of July through the first half of November, Chaturmas is celebrated.

2. After Tulsi Vivah the wedding season in India begins - Traditionally, the wedding season in India begins after Tulsi Vivah, which falls on the Hindu Devuthani Ekadashi tithi (or November according to the Gregorian calendar), which is the Hindu festival of Tulsi.

3. Auspicious Nakshatras for marriage are Rohini, All the Uttaras, Revathi, Mool, Swati, Mrighasira, Madha, Anuradha, and Hasta.

4. Inauspicious days for marriages in a month: Chathurthi, Chaturdashi, Navmi, Amavasya.

5. Auspicious days in a week: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday.

Vedic astrology considers the setting of a planet to be a very significant event. Every year, some days, you cannot see the planets because they come very close to the Sun. It is also called the setting or disappearance of the planet. During the time of Venus's setting, auspicious work is not done. According to the Brihatsamhita text, weather can shift suddenly due to Venus's setting. There is a possibility of rain during the scorching heat of Nautapa in many parts of the country.

When the planet is at its closest to the sun it is called an asta or moudya or combustion. As it approaches the sun, it passes closer to its orbit. The sun is the only light source around which all other planets revolve. The Tejas / fire that Surya emits burns everything in his vicinity. Astrology can benefit from an analysis of Asta combust planets.

1. All planets have Rashmi/Rays. The radiant energy or Rashmi/Rays from a planet get subdued by powerful solar rays or Tejas once it passes into close orbit with the Sun. In the blazing sun, other planets' rays are reduced or lost. Consequently, they lose power and give erratic results because they lose their Rays.

2. Neither the Moon nor the Sun will become Asta nor Combust. As Moon approaches the Sun's orbit, its size will diminish with each passing tithi, until Moon is reduced to nothingness on Amavasya, when it is closest to the Sun's orbit.

3. Near or orbiting the sun, other planets become combustible. At different degrees, planets become asta or combust. Within 15 degrees of the Sun, planets like Venus and Mercury become combustible. Mars becomes combustible within 10 degrees. Saturn and Jupiter are slow-moving planets that ignite within 8-10 degrees.

4. Neither Rahu nor Ketu becomes combust as they are just points of intersection. Ketu causes Grahana to the sun, which is known as Surya Grahana.

Shukra and Guru Tara Asta

When Shukra Tara and Guru Tara are set, all shubh work, including weddings, is prohibited. Thus no weddings take place after Venus and Jupiter have combusted or after Asta (moudya).

Shukra Tara Asta (Venus Asta)

It is not recommended to have a wedding ceremony during Shukra Tara Asta. Marriage should be performed during an auspicious period. Shubh Muhurat for marriage begins with the rising of Venus or Shukra Tara Uday (Sukrodaya. In astrology, Venus is considered an auspicious planet, but it often brings unfavorable outcomes as well. Venus affects a person's physical health, physical wellbeing, and marriage. Venus' auspicious and inauspicious effects are also influenced by the positions of the other planets in the birth chart. According to astrology, Venus is a factor of marriage, enjoyment, success, popularity, the arts, films, entertainment, beauty, romance, and lust. Those whose lives are ruled by Venus are attractive, and their image affects people around them.

Despite the setting of Venus, all the zodiac signs are expected to be impacted; however Taurus and Libra will be most affected. Taurus and Libra belong to Venus, so Venus can be considered their lord. In these signs, the happiness may decrease due to the influence of Venus lessening. The setting of Venus this time will last 61 days.

These are things to keep in mind.

The comforts decrease when Venus is set. So, to keep Venus strong, give gifts to the girls, feed them cow's milk pudding. In this way also Venus' inauspiciousness is greatly reduced. A tendency to cheat is another reason for Venus' inauspicious results. Shukra is an auspicious star that given luck wealth and prosperity. But any star when comes closer to the sunsets. (Asta). Out of the 12 zodiacs when this zodiac and the sun are in the same house it becomes Asta

Guru Tara Asta (Jupiter Asta)

The Vedic system of Astrology calls the transit of Guru (Jupiter) Rashi through Singh (Leo) Rashi the Singhast Guru. It is believed that the Singhast Guru makes performing shubh karyas (activities) unlucky.

1. Rahukaalam, Gulikakalam and birthdays: We recommend against marrying on birthdays, during Jupiter or Venus combustions (Guru or Shukra Asta) and Gulika or Rahukalam. In general, do not engage in any auspicious activity during the following period.

2. In Hinduism, Adhika Masa (Mal Masa / Purshottam Masa) is an extra month inserted to keep the lunar calendar and solar calendar aligned. The event occurs every three years.

3. The four months of Chaturmas corresponds to the Indian monsoon season. When this time is upon us, Vishnu is considered to be sleeping. But more than that, it was a matter of avoiding inconvenience during rainy seasons.

4. 16 days when Hindus honor their ancestors, called Pitru Paksha in the Hindu calendar.

5. Last day of Shraddha Period - Pitra Mokshya Amavasya or Mahalaya Shraddha .

Holashtak

Our ancient heritage stresses the importance of choosing an auspicious Muhurat for every task, especially for those that impact our lives in a long-term manner. Marriage is no exception to that. Our readers are probably already familiar with the festival of Holi, which is one of the largest Hindu festivals in India, especially in northern India. The eight days before Holi are considered unlucky by many. This is Holashtak, which is made up of two words- Holi and Ashtak.Ashtak refers to eight days leading up to Holi, and 'Holi' refers to the festival of Holi. Holshatak begins in Phalgun, in the month of Ashtami Tithi (the eighth date) of Shukla Paksha (the waxing phase of the moon). Holashtak concludes on the Full Moon Day (Purnima) of the month of Phalgun, on which is performed Holika Dahan.

The following four Karanas are not suitable for marriage

1. Chatushpada

2. Vishti

3. Shakuni

4. Nagava

These prohibited Karanas may cause the bride and the bridegroom to die. The marriage performed during these Karanas might result in family destruction and sudden unexpected consequences.

The remaining Karanas: Kinstughnas, Bavas, Balavas, Kaulavas, Taitilas, Garajas, Vanijas are auspicious for marriages.
