On this Ekadashi, or any other Ekadashi, the midday snana (bath) is not recommended. The reason for this is that on the days of ritual fasting (Ekadashis) and one day prior to it (Dashami), even if we bathe in a holy place, our purification is not complete until we have a sankalpa for fasting. If we bathe before taking sankalpa for fasting, then this affects the results of our Ekadashi vrat. We should bathe only after taking the fast.
